When To Call A Plumber
There are some plumbing problems that you may be able to handle on your own. However, in many cases, it is best to call a plumber. Below are some of the signs that you may need to contact a plumber:
Frozen Pipes
If you have a frozen pipe, then you will need to close the shutoff valve to the main water and open a nearby faucet before you try to thaw the pipe. You need to check to make sure that the pipe is not cracked or burst. If it is, then you will need to contact a plumber. You will probably be able to thaw the pipe with heat guns and hair dryers if the pipe is not damaged.
Not Hot Water
This is usually caused by a leaking water tank. However, it is sometimes difficult to find the cause. A faulty thermostat and tripped circuit breaker are some of the things that can possibly cause this problem. A plumber will identify the cause and rectify the problem.
Extensive Water Line Damage
This probably is usually caused by freezing. If you try to repair this problem yourself, then you will probably waste a lot of your valuable time. It is best to call in a professional to take care of the job for you.
Sewer Line Stoppage
If you cannot get the sewer line to drain yourself, then you need to contact a professional. You probably have a bad plug in the main sewer’s line.
