Hot Water can help sink clogs

The typical kitchen holds one side-by-side sink. With the everyday use of typical family, sinks often become clogged and unusable. There are several different ways to help unclog a sink without using a harsh chemical.
Hot Water

Hot water is an often-overlooked remedy for removing many clogs. Fat can build up in a pipe as food and other substances are poured through the pipe. As liquid cools it leaves behind fat particles while the rest of the liquid drains through. These pockets of fat can build up over time eventually clogging the entire pipe. Using water that is heated to almost boiling will melt this fat and allow liquids to pour flow through the pipe. This fat build up is one reason why no food of any type should be poured down a sink that doesn’t have a garbage disposal attached.

Plunging

A typical bathroom plunger can be used to help push the stoppage out. Since both sides are connected, you can plunge one side at a time. Cover one side of the sink as you plunge the other. This will create a vacuum to help push the clogs substance through. The trick is to make sure that no air is going through the side of the sink that is covered. Use a plate or another item that is bigger than the opening itself.

Not all clogs can be handled at home. If these issues persist, call a professional Las Vegas plumbing company.
