plumbing toolsThere are some of us in the world who are a bit more handy and others, who we shall say are a bit less handy.  If you are thinking about doing your own plumbing job because you are a handy type of person, we can respect that.  We find this is great sometimes, and other times, a handy person can do way more help than good as one “fix” leads to another necessary “fix” and the chain starts.

Let’s look at an example.  “John” had a clogged toilet.  He decided to get a contraption from the local Home place that we are all aware of to rent a contraption that snaked down the toilet and the cable broke inside.  Now he had a cable issue, so he decided to pull the toilet, and when he did, the seal cracked and he didn’t see it.  He got the cable, repositioned the toilet and then had a leak.

Other people have a clog and just use a clog cleaner and that works.  We are not saying every plumbing issue deserves a plumber to be called out if you are handy.  The basic rule of thumb is if you don’t know exactly what you are doing, call a professional.
