Water Softener Not Fully InstalledEveryone knows how important it is to have good plumbing in their homes. Since water is something we all use every day, having a good water plumbing system is necessary. A good plumbing system distributes water throughout your home and saves waste water.

Below are some simple tips to help you save water in your home.

• Dish Washing – Always turn off your faucet when scrubbing your dishes, and turn it back on only to rinse the dishes.
• Showers – Make your shower time shorter, and always turn off the water while shaving.
• Baths – Use less water for bathing.
• Toilets – Inspect your toilet for possible leaks. To do so, use food coloring. Add about five drops of food coloring to the water closet in the toilet. If you have a leak, you will see color in the toilet bowl in about 30 minutes. While you are checking the toilet, look for any signs of cracks. Make sure the flush is working like it should, and if you notice that you have to hold the handle down longer than normal for it to work, it’s probably time to replace some of the worn out parts.
• Faucets – Check all your faucets and connections to see if there are leaks. If you see leaks, repair them yourself to save money.
• Water Heater – If your water heater is more than 15 years old, it’s time to replace it. A newer water heater model is much more efficient than an older one.

By following some of the above tips, you will surely save money on your water bill and keep your plumbing in tip-top shape.
