Finding Mold or Mildew Growth

Finding mold growing on a wall or ceiling is sometimes the first sign people find that they have a water leak. Since mold grows in dark and moist environments, a leak in a pipe can provide and ideal environment since pipes are usually inside of walls.

Damaged Walls or Flooring

The wall paper peeling off in places that regularly experience high amounts of moisture is normal. When the damage includes things like areas of the wall or ceiling being distended, that’s a sign of water damage. If you touch the wall and it feels soft or a section crumbles, that’s also another good indicator that there’s some form of water damage.
