PlungerReasons Your Toilet Will Not Flush

Having a toilet that will not flush can be quite frustrating. However, in many cases, you can identify the cause. Below are some of the reasons your toilet will not flush:

Clogged Toilet

There are many things that can clog your toilet, including sanitary pads, diapers and toys. Too much toilet paper can also clog your toilet. One of the best things you can do to prevent your toilet from getting clogged is to watch what you flush down it. You may also want to use thinner toilet paper.

Low Water Level

If the water level inside of the tank is too low, then the toilet probably will not flush. The water valve may be turned off if the water level is too low. The toilet should refill to the correct level once the water valve is turned back on.

Bent Rubber Flapper

The rubber flapper releases water when the toilet is flushed. It closes after the toilet has flushed in order to ensure that the right amount of water stays inside of the tank. If your rubber flapper is bent, then it will need to be replaced. Fortunately, rubber flappers do not cost a lot of money to replace.
