When Should You Call the Plumber?
The floor is covered in water.
While you might be able to clean up the standing water, you may not be able to figure out what caused it. If so, the flooding will likely happen again.
The water pressure is too low.
If the water pressure is low in one or more faucets, especially related to the toilet, sinks, or shower, a plumber might need to inspect the entire system to find the problem. A pipe might be clogged, or an unseen pipe could have a leak. A professional plumber has the tools to find out.
The water is a funny color.
While this could be due to any number of factors, a licensed plumber can get to the root of the matter by checking the well, septic system, or pipes to see what is affecting the water.
Some people take chances and try to fix plumbing problems on their own. But you can probably save money and time by calling an expert to handle it from the beginning.
